A red leaf at sunset

This red leaf is of momiji trees which are common plants to paint the landscape red in autumn. But in this photo my main interest is in the golden reflection on the water.

夕映えの一葉

言うまでもなくモミジ（茂美路）です。京都か奈良まで出かければそれなりの風景もありますがここ大阪では正直難しいです。夕暮れの水面の反射がなければ何もできなかったでしょう。

You love colourful and gorgeous landscape in autumn, and so do I. But I prefer small and simple things because they give us a chance of creativity.

錦秋の風景はもちろんすばらしいが近頃は何か飽きてしまったような気もする。小さな秋で俳句を詠むように光画を創るのもまたよいものです。

It was just a fine day but I have to think if the structure had been a European cathedral instead of this Japanese shopping center.

これは大阪市城東区蒲生四丁目に聳え立つ摩天楼・キリンド。空の青さも申し分なし。もしこれがヨーロッパの大聖堂ならいい絵になったかもしれない。

Festival float threading a narrow street

We recently had an autumn festival in my town in Osaka, Japan. This wooden float can be thought as a movable shrine, which is to deliver fortune to homes.

先日、私の住む城東区（大阪市）の今福・鴫野で秋の祭りがあった。だんじり自体見て楽しいものだが、半被の文字（中之町）もまた味わいがある。

Although I do not know the name of the small white flower, the yellow leaves on the ground are of cherry trees.

まだまだ暑い日が続いているとはいえ探せば秋の色はあるもので、桜の落葉はこれから秋の終わりまで美しい色彩を提供してくれる。

John Lennon would have been 70 on 9th October if he had not been assassinated by the CIA/FBI (George H.W. Bush?). He would say that nothing had changed seeing the world full of deception and corruption.

10月9日はJohn Lennonの誕生日。生きてたら今年70歳ということで世界各地で催物があるらしい。彼がCIA/FBIに暗殺されてから30年経つが、この欺瞞に満ち腐敗した世界を見れば何も変わってないねと嘆くだろう。

This is a soft sun-shade for the cigarette vending machines. I rather focused on the silky reflection on the textile.

陽の当たる場所

たばこが値上げされたという。私は吸わないから一向に構わないが小売店には大きな打撃らしい。かつて街から駄菓子屋が消えていったようにたばこ屋も無くなってしまうのだろうか。この味のあるのれんもいつまで見られるか判らない。

What I have learnt from the 9/11 are that corrupt governments can do whatever they want even in the democratic states and that we cannot trust the mass-media at all.

日陰のうたた寝

気象庁によると今年の夏は記録のある1898年以降で最も暑かったという。このいい加減な国の記録など余り当てにはならないと思うが、実際この夏の苦しくなるほどの苛烈な暑さは半端ではなかった。

しかし問題は今までで一番暑いかどうかではなく、今後どうなっていくかだろう。科学者によると人類が放出した排ガス（温室効果ガス）による気候変動（温暖化）はこれから始まるというのだから。
