Winter blossom

Ume blossoms are now starting to bloom in Osaka, adding some spring flavour to bleak winter days.

大阪でも漸く梅が咲き始める。これは大阪城公園の寒紅。寒々とした冬の日々に春の風味を加えながら。

Despite its coldness winter sometimes gives us clear deep blue sky.

冬は寒いものではあるが時として澄んだ紺青の空を見せてくれる。

This cat will be enjoying the view of ume blossoms (there are many ume trees behind the cat) on the spacial seat soon.

Scaring away the evil

This figure is called shishigami in Japanese and placed on the roof of the festival float to scare away the evil.

獅子がみ

こちらは大阪市生野区清見原神社の中川だんじりの獅子がみさん。この獅子がみ以外にも中川のだんじりの彫物にはほんまに圧倒されました。

Little videographer

It's not so surprising nowadays that a small child is shooting a video at the festival.

小さなカメラマン

こちらは昨年１１月に大阪城公園で行われただんじり祭りの風景。 子供カメラマンも最近ではそう珍しくはなくなりました。背景は生野区弥栄神社の岡だんじり。

View of the buildings

This quiet road is lying along the bank of Yodogawa River, where you can get a view of ever-expanding cityscape of Osaka.

こちらは淀川堤防にある静かな歩行者自転車道路。拡大し続ける梅田のビル群と対照的です。
