Watching the festivity

Festivals are joy for children and we are also pleased to see them smiling.

祭り見物

子供たちにとって祭りは楽しいものである。そして私たちも子供たちの笑顔を見るのが喜びである。

Scaring away the evils

This figure is called Shishi which is placed on the roof of the float to protect it against the evils.

獅子噛

これはだんじりの屋根にある獅子噛（ししがみ）と呼ばれるもの。だんじりには他にもたくさんの彫り物があるのだが普通見る機会は少ない。

Festival float on the narrow street

As July is the time for summer festivals in Osaka there are numerous events through the month. One of my favourites is to see the festival floats parading through the town.

路地を行くだんじり

７月といえば大阪では夏祭りの季節である。一般に大阪の三大祭りは愛染祭り、天神祭り、住吉祭りとされるが私のは杭全神社夏祭り（平野区）、八剱神社夏祭り（城東区鴫野）、天神祭りとなる。だんじりのない祭りはどこか物足りないものである。

Scorching summer

It was 35 degrees here in Osaka today. The sun was burning, the air was boiling, the road was baking and humans were sizzling. Even sunflowers seemed to be overheating.

灼熱の夏

今日の大阪は３５度。太陽は燃え、空気は沸騰し、道路は焼け、人間は茹だる。ひまわり（陽間割）でさえオーバーヒート気味であった。

The world of purple

These purple flowers are hydrangeas which are very common at the rainy season in Japan. I always feel how they can create such a beautiful tone.

紫の世界

アジサイ（味彩）というのは花の形は少し魅力に欠けるがその色合いは非常に美しいと思う。

Beauty in the city

This photo is just an intermezzo between flowers. And it's not bad to see this kind of beautiful picture in the city.

都市の中の美

このようなきれいな絵を街で見るのは悪くないですね。

Blessed with the rain

As you see this rose -Bridal Pink- looks vivid and pleasing with the rain. And the rain can be blessing for humans, especially for photographers :-)

恵みの雨
